The vision of Leimert Mountaineering is simple : to elevate people of color on and off the mountain. Their mission: to reclaim the outdoors; a space that has always been ours. I provided creative direction, motion, 3D, and graphic design to craft a brand identity that feels both timeless and disruptive. Inspired by early-2000s underground“Smack DVDs,” the system captures the raw spirit of how we carry ourselves on and beyond the trail. Leading to a format where every design element was hand-scanned, giving the work a zine-like authenticity rooted in the culture. The result: an identity that extends past the summit—expressed in how we move, how we dress, how we show up. A statement of intent that reminds us: we never had to re-discover the outdoors. We’ve been outside.
